OutdoorChef Montreux 570 G Granite Barbecue
OutdoorChef barbecues are characterized by their high quality workmanship and innovative product technology along with their high standard finishing. The well thought out patented funnel cooking system designed in Switzerland sets their barbecues apart on the market offering a simple yet healthy cooking option.
Boasting a generous 57cm diameter kettle bowl with a hinged roasting hood which has been finished to a high quality standard with an ergonomic steel handle allowing the hood to be opened and closed without the need for mitts. The lid has an integrated thermometer which allows you to keep control over cooking temperatures without opening the lid and loosing heat causing cooking times to lengthen. The no burn cooking system allows foods to be cooked through without the need to turn during cooking when using the indirect cooking system.
Designed with two round stainless steel gas burners which are mounted centrally at the bottom of the enamelled cooking bowl which allows for greater heat control and cooking at lower temperatures. The Montreux barbecue can go from 0°-360° in 10 minutes allowing you to get cooking quickly and also features a slow cooking temperature of 100° should this be required. The two burners are easily lit using the one touch electronic ignition system which is mounted on the front control panel and controlled with individual control knobs.
Above the burners is the the easy flip patented funnel system which eliminates flare-ups and protects foods from burning and helps to distribute heat evenly. The fats and juices which are released from foods lands on the funnels and evaporates giving that much loved BBQ flavour and smell. Any juices which do not evaporate will run along the porcelain enamelled funnel into the collecting tray underneath for quick and easy cleaning.
The cooking bowl is mounted on a robust, epoxy coated tubular frame which is finished off with a granite side shelf to either side of the kettle which are detachable should you wish to make the BBQ more compact and a slatted lower shelf which is most useful for storing any ingredients, d condiments or crockery. Designed with a bowl leveling feature and height adjustable feet which allows the barbecue to stand on uneven ground. Built with two large wheels for easy movement around the garden or patio, this model also features tool hangers to keep utensils close to hand.
Indirect Grilling and Baking
For indirect barbecuing and roasting, the upper funnel is placed inside the kettle with the large opening pointing upwards. The heat from the gas burner rises up along the sides of the kettle, distributing an even, indirect heat from all sides. With the lid on, there's no need to turn the food at all throughout the cooking process.
Direct Cooking and Roasting
For grilling at very high temperatures or with the cast-iron griddle, the upper funnel is placed in the kettle with the small opening at the top. This creates high, concentrated heat in the middle of the cooking grid or griddle. The kettle lid is not absolutely necessary for this method of cooking.
